I began my clinical activity at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, where I graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1997. Subsequently, I worked as consultant at the San Gallicano Dermatological Institute in Rome, taking care of hospitalized patients.
I specialised in Dermatology and Venereology in 2002 at the University of Parma. I began my scientific work at the Institute Dermopatico Immaculate where I was actively involved in clinical dermatology through planning and participation in epidemiological studies, and studies on quality of life in psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and atopic dermatitis collaborating with Professor G. Girolomoni. At the same time I participated as sub-investigator in clinical trials mainly on biologics in the treatment of psoriasis and topical calcineurin inhibitors in atopic dermatitis. From 2006 to 2014, I have been researcher assistant, since 2014 associate professor of Dermatology at the Department of Medicine, Section of Dermatology and Venereology University of Verona, Italy. In 2018 I have been elected as director of the school of specialization in Dermatology and Venereology. My scientific interest is the clinical and epidemiological research particularly in inflammatory skin diseases. A special interest has been dedicated to psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and their management with conventional and biological drugs. Most of my studies focus on the association between psoriasis and co-morbidities, particularly metabolic alterations and arthritis.
